54" Black Aluminum Fence Installation

Project Overview

This Pasadena, MD homeowner had a large, heavily wooded lot and two dogs who needed a safe, fully enclosed yard — without sacrificing the property’s open, natural feel. All Around Fence designed and installed approximately 780 linear feet of 54-inch black aluminum ornamental fencing along the wooded property line, tying into five gates positioned at the driveway, patio, and side-yard access points.

The result is a boundary that reads as clean and unobtrusive against the tree line while giving the homeowner’s pets a safe, unsupervised run of the yard.

Why This Design Worked

At roughly 780 linear feet, the fence line needed to fully wrap a large wooded lot without feeling heavy against the tree line — black aluminum was chosen specifically because it visually recedes into the woods rather than standing out the way a lighter-colored or solid privacy fence would.

Five gates — three single and two double — were mapped to the property’s actual access points: the driveway, the rear patio, and the side yard, so every part of the property remained usable rather than being cut off by the new fence line.

Arched gate toppers were used at the most visible access points near the home and driveway, adding a decorative touch where the fence is most often seen, while the rest of the run stays simple and functional.

Standout Features

Same-day temporary gates: rather than leaving the yard open while the custom permanent gates were fabricated, the crew installed temporary gates on day one so the homeowner’s dogs could use the yard safely right away.
Pet containment signage: a “Dog in Yard — Keep Gate Closed” plaque was integrated into the patio gate, reinforcing safe use of the enclosure for everyday household traffic.
Boulder landscaping integration: existing natural boulders along the property line were worked into the fence layout rather than removed, preserving the wooded, natural character of the yard.
Fast turnaround: the full 780-foot run and all five gates were installed in just a couple of days.
Owner-led execution: Jeremy, one of the owners, was personally on site to oversee the three-person crew throughout the install.

The Finished Result

The homeowner now has a fully enclosed, secure yard that lets their dogs roam safely without supervision, while the black aluminum fence line stays visually quiet against the surrounding trees. Every access point — driveway, patio, and side yard — has its own functional gate, and the natural landscaping along the boundary was preserved rather than disrupted. The project was completed quickly, with no gap in usable, secure yard space for the homeowner’s pets at any point during the install.
